Man, 24, faces attempted murder charge in stabbing during dispute in South Brunswick [Video]

An Edison man has been charged with stabbing an acquaintance multiple times with a pocket knife during a dispute early Saturday in South Brunswick, police said.

Dante Wright, 24, faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Police were called to James Avenue at 1:19 a.m. Saturday and found a man with multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital and remains in stable condition, South Brunswick police said.

Wright was at the scene and taken into custody, police said. The nature of the dispute between the two men was not disclosed.

He was taken to the Middlesex County jail pending a detention hearing. Anyone with information about the incident may call Detective Sgt. Timothy Hoover at 732-329-4000, ext. 7496.
