A 27-year-old man was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a possible stabbing in broad daylight Monday afternoon.
At around 2 p.m., Montreal police received several 911 calls about a man injured by a “sharp object” and then responded to the intersection of Milton Street and Parc Avenue in the city’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, said Caroline Chèvrefils, a police spokesperson.
When officers arrived, they found the victim at the scene with “significant” injuries to his upper body. He was sent to hospital, but “we don’t fear for his life,” Chèvrefils said.
She said the altercation happened during a “meeting” between the victim and the suspect. A K-9 unit was called in to assist with the search for the suspect.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
