A man was arrested overnight after pretending to be asleep on a GO train and refusing to leave, police say.

Barrie police said that just before 1 a.m., they were contacted by GO Transit about the man.

“Upon arrival at the GO Transit Allandale Yard, the 45-year-old male continued to be uncooperative with responding Barrie police officers and was arrested under provisions contained within the Trespass to Property Act,” police said.

After confirming his ID, officers learned that the man was wanted on warrants by another police service, officers said.

Arrangements were then made to meet officers from the GTA-based police service.

Just before 4 a.m., he was transferred into their custody, police said.
