Man assaulted on Montreal metro platform, police searching for suspect [Video]

Montreal police (SPVM) are asking for the public’s assistance in connection to a man being assaulted while waiting on the platform at the Jolicoeur metro station.

On Oct.1, police say the victim and his friend were on the platform waiting for the green line train heading for Honore-Beaugrand at around 5:50 p.m. when the suspect stopped him and suggested he stop laughing.

“Ignoring this request, the victim was again allegedly shouted at by the suspect,” the SPVM said in a news release. “After advising the suspect to calm down, the victim was allegedly punched in the face. The suspect then fled the scene aboard a subway train.”

Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with head injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man with shaved hair and blue eyes. He was wearing an Expos cap and a black soccer jersey with “Ottawa 17” written on it.
