Man charged after workers at supportive housing complex threatened [Video]

A Guelph man is facing charges after three employees of a supportive housing complex were threatened.

On Tuesday, Guelph Police officers were called to the home in the north end of the city for a “physical disturbance,” during which one of the residents reportedly damaged a fire extinguisher.

“While officers were on scene they learned of another incident a week earlier during which three employees had to lock themselves in an office while a resident pounded on the door, demanding cigarettes and threatening to harm the workers,” police said in a media release.

A 26-year-old man is charged with mischief under $5,000 and three counts of uttering threats.
