A man is facing a murder charge in connection with the death of an 83-year-old in Ontario, police say.
Ontario Provincial Police said that on Wednesday at around 2:36 p.m., officers went to a home on Sherk Street in Leamington, southeast of Windsor, for a wellness check.
Leamington resident Anita Goodings was found dead.
“A postmortem was conducted by the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and determined the death was a result of a homicide,” OPP said laid week.
Goodings’ cause of death hasn’t been released.
OPP said that on Saturday, officers arrested and charged 61-year-old Kevin Goodings of no fixed address with second-degree murder.
Police didn’t confirm if the suspect and victim were related.
The investigation is ongoing.
