Man dead after Langley gang shooting: IHIT [Video]

One man is dead and another injured after a shooting in Langley Saturday evening that homicide investigators say is gang-related.

Mounties said they responded to shots fired near 196 Street and 84 Avenue around 6:00 p.m. and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other was taken to hospital and is expected to survive, police said.

In an update Sunday afternoon, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the deceased victim has been identified and is known to police, but they are not releasing his name pending notification of his family.

Investigators say initial evidence indicates the shooting was targeted and linked to the ongoing gang conflict in B.C.
