A man has died after an early morning shooting in St. Catharines, Ontario.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Carlton Street and Athlone Place area of the city at approximately 3:40 a.m. on Monday, Niagara Regional Police said.
When officers arrived, they found a man in a vehicle with gunshot wounds, police said.
Police said the man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Homicide Unit is investigating, police added.
Police said there are road closures in the area with a heavy police presence.
As of Monday morning, there were no arrests and police haven’t provided suspect descriptions.
