The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office identified Ricky Fowler as the victim of last month’s RV fire at “The Flats” encampment in Ontario, Oregon.
BOISE, Idaho — The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal RV fire that occurred at “The Flats” homeless encampment in Ontario, Oregon, last month.
Ricky Cole Fowler, 32, was identified by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. He died in the RV fire on April 23. Originally from Texas, Fowler had lived in Ontario since 2020.
“The Malheur County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Fowler during this incredibly difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they navigate this tragedy,” the sheriff’s office stated.
The fire was reported at 8:14 a.m., with multiple fire departments responding. After putting out the flames, crews found Fowler’s body inside the burned RV.
