A federal offender who was convicted of several sexual assault charges – including rape – in Toronto in 2007 is back behind bars after being charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement while out on parole in Kingston.
Kingston Police say a woman using the Rideau Trail system between the north end of Queen Mary Road and the south end of Parkway was attacked and sexually assaulted on the afternoon of March 12.
The woman required medical attention as a result of the attack and called police and investigators from the Criminal Investigation Division Sexual Assault Unit were able to identify the suspect as being an inmate on statutory release.
