Man shot and killed, second man stabbed inside Toronto home [Video]

Toronto police say they are searching for suspects after a 29-year-old man was shot and killed and a 58-year-old man sustained serious stab wounds inside a home in the city’s west end late Monday night.

Officers were called to the area of Silverthorn and Rockwell avenues, near St. Clair Avenue West and Old Weston Road, at around 11:45 p.m. for reports of a shooting and stabbing.

One man was found with gunshot wounds and subsequently pronounced deceased, police said. A second man suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. He is now believed to be in stable condition.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday morning, Det. Sgt. Jeff Allington said police believe the shooting was a “targeted,” “isolated” incident.

“I understand how an incident like this can cause concern within the community,” Allington said.
