Police in Hamilton say the fatal stabbing of a man in Hamilton early Sunday morning was an “unprovoked incident” between two strangers.
The incident happened at Peddles Tavern at 1490 Barton St., south of Kenilworth Avenue North.
Hamilton Police Service (HPS) said they were called to that area around 1:45 a.m. for reports of a male who had been stabbed.
There, officers found a male with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 34-year-old Shah Ghafoori, from the Hamilton area. He is the city’s 10th murder victim of the year.
