Man struck while walking along Ontario highway [Video]

A man walking along a highway has suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

Reports say the man was walking on Highway 404 north of Sheppard Avenue in Toronto when the incident occurred just before midnight yesterday (May 9).

Paramedics who rushed to the scene found the injured man and transported him to the hospital.

In a separate incident, a woman walking in traffic was struck by two vehicles and killed in Toronto on Thursday night (May 8).

Toronto police say a woman in her 20s was struck in the Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East area around 9:30 p.m.

They said the woman was first struck by a white van and then again by an SUV. The drivers of both vehicles failed to remain at the scene.

The identity of the woman has not been released.
