A man won a large lottery jackpot in Canada last month and initially didn’t tell many people.

The British Columbia Lottery Corporation announced Wednesday that Darryl Woods from Prince George won the $5 million classic jackpot in the April 23 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Woods discovered the big win the morning after the draw when he scanned his ticket using the BCLC app.

“I thought, ‘this can’t be real,’” Woods said in a news release from BCLC.

“I had to check it three times to make sure and once I realized the amount, I couldn’t stop vibrating until that afternoon.”

He woke up his brother at 7 a.m. to tell him the news.

“He was a bit dazed at first but was really excited for me once I showed him I won,” Woods said.
