Manitoba weather: Another hit of wintry weather is expected [Video]

Get ready for another wintry blast of snow and bitter cold in southern Manitoba.

A ridge of arctic high pressure is spreading southward, bringing sunshine back to much of the province on Wednesday.

However, it also comes with a blast of arctic air. Daytime highs will remain in the upper minus teens or -20s across the province this afternoon.

An extreme cold warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) this morning for parts of the southwest is no longer in effect.

For all intents and purposes, though, that means conditions have moderated just enough to end the warning. It will still be a cold day with the risk of frostbite across Manitoba.

Meanwhile, an Alberta clipper is racing across the southern prairies this afternoon.

ECCC has issued a snowfall warning for southwest regions including Virden, Melita, and Killarney.
