As we close in on the end of 2024, mild and misty conditions continue on Monday afternoon in southeastern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario.
As of early this afternoon, a fog advisory issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) remains in effect for those regions.
The weather agency said dense fog developed overnight in southern Manitoba. Fog banks continue to produce near-zero visibility in some areas. Conditions should improve this afternoon.
ECCC anticipates fog will linger longer in northwestern Ontario, possibly into this evening.
As the fog lifts in Manitoba, northwest winds will begin to sweep into the south that will flush out a stagnant airmass over the region, and along with it, the mist, fog, and drizzle we’ve seen over the past week or so.
