There’s more freezing rain on the way on the weekend with winter weather advisories and warnings issued for much of southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says Saturday could bring a “significant freezing rain threat” to the GTA including Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, Halton Hills, Oakville, Milton and Guelph.
Areas further east of Toronto are under a freezing rain warning including Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa and Peterborough.
The warning for Durham and cottage country calls for potentially “significant ice accretion” of five to 10 mm, while Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton could see between three to five mm of ice build-up.
The Ministry of Natural Resources is tracking a slow-moving low-pressure system set to move into Durham Region’s watershed through Sunday, with precipitation totals of between 20 mm to 60 mm.
