Maritime closures in advance of winter storm [Video]

There are a number of closures in the Maritimes Friday in advance of heavy snowfall that’s anticipated through parts of the region.

Halifax has declared an overnight parking ban in the municipality overnight Friday in preparation for the storm.

The Halifax Public Gardens posted an announcement on its X account to say the gardens would be closed Saturday for cleanup after the storm. Many recreation facilities in the municipality will delay opening until 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Northumberland Ferries has cancelled all departures for Saturday. They said they will monitor conditions Sunday before providing updates.

Halifax Stanfield International Airport and the Charlottetown Airport advising passengers to stay up to date on their flight status as cancellations could accompany the weather. Marine Atlantic has multiple travel advisories in effect.
