Marjorie Catherine ‘Cathy’ (Sload) King [Video]

Marjorie Catherine (Cathy) Sload King passed away on July 18, 2024, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital in Twin Falls, Idaho, from complications of Lewy Body Dementia. Cathy was born on October 30, 1944, in Washington, District of Columbia, to Philip and Alberta Sload.

Cathy was the oldest of three girls. She was a protective, if somewhat bossy older sister and always looked out for her younger sisters (Patty and Suzanne) with care and affection.

Cathy grew up in Rockville, Maryland, with the exception of a few years in Hawaii where her father, Philip, served as a civilian in the United States Air Force. After the family returned to Rockville, Cathy attended Richard Montgomery High School where she graduated in 1962.

Cathy attended college at the University of Idaho, in Moscow, Idaho, and pledged the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She majored in elementary education and graduated in 1966 with a …
