Mass. business owners bracing for the impact of new Trump tariffs [Video]

Local Massachusetts businesses are preparing for potential price hikes after President Donald Trump’s new 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican imports kicked in at midnight Tuesday. Breweries in Massachusetts are anticipating a price increase on things like aluminum and steel — especially aluminum, which is used to make beer cans.The owner of Castle Island Brewery, Adam Romanow, said the tariffs could cause businesses to raise their prices. “These are not problems you should have to be facing,” Romanow said. “Our vendors for aluminum cans, for example, are domestic. Where they buy some of their aluminum is domestic, but where that vendor sources it from, we don’t know.
