A spiritual call centre in Ontario has become a sanctuary for the victims of the wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles County.
The Crossroads Prayer Centre, a global 24-hour phone line in Burlington, has received a tidal wave of calls from distressed Californian residents impacted by the ongoing catastrophe.
At the time of publication, 10 known fatalities have been recorded and 180,000 Los Angeles area residents have been forced to evacuate as the fires continue to spread.
As a result, unprecedented demands for Crossroad’s services have been taking shape.
According to their website, The Crossroads Prayer Centre functions as a direct line where those requiring religious assistance can call a ‘prayer partner.’
