It’s expected to be a warm and sunny start to the weekend in the Greater Toronto Area and across southern Ontario with highs around or above 20 C.

Environment Canada says Saturday should bring sunny conditions to the GTA following a week of scattered showers and overnight frost warnings.

Daytime highs could reach 21 C in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, dipping to around 20 C in Hamilton and Oshawa, and a high of 18 C in the Niagara Falls area.

The UV Index is expected to be rated at an 8, or “very high,” the weather agency says.

Winds throughout the day are expected to blow around 20 km/h, gusting up to around 40 km/h in the afternoon in Mississauga, Brampton and Hamilton.

Sunday’s forecast calls for more sunny skies and a high of around 18 C in Mississauga, with clear conditions and an overnight low of around 8 C.
