May 21 weather: 30 mm of rain possible across southern Ontario [Video]

Wednesday’s forecast is calling for wet weather throughout the day with up to 30 mm of rainfall possible in the Greater Toronto Area and southern Ontario.

Environment Canada says the day is expected to start off cloudy with periods of rain beginning in the later morning hours.

The afternoon could see between 5 mm to 10 mm of rain in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, while there could be between 10 mm to 15 mm in Hamilton and Niagara Falls, the weather agency says.

The daytime high will be around 13 C with winds blowing around 20 km/h gusting up to 40 km/h.

Into the evening hours, there’s more rain expected with another 10 mm to 20 mm possible in Mississauga.

The overnight low is expected to be around 9 C with winds gusting up to around 50 km/h.
