NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – As Mayor Latoya Cantrell hits the road again, this time traveling to France just days after returning from Canada, a Fox 8 investigation found that the number of her official meetings, events, and appearances has dwindled with each passing year.
In recent months, Mayor Cantrell has missed or been silent during several high-profile events in the city she was elected to lead.
During a May 22 New Orleans Police Department promotion ceremony, Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said Mayor Cantrell usually attends the ceremonies, but couldn’t that day because she was out of town.
Days later, Cantrell’s office remained silent as a power outage left more than 100,000 Entergy customers across the region in the dark.
