A bicycle that can be used in bed helps critically ill patients leave the hospital sooner with better physical function, concludes a Hamilton study.

The specialized bike allows rehabilitation to start in the intensive care unit (ICU) to help patients recover. It has a motor so the bike can move the patient’s legs on its own or they can add their own power if they’re able.
