As “Mean Girls” turns 21 this year, the Plastics are getting an Irish makeover!

“Cailíní Gránna,” a hilarious Irish-language parody produced by Mumbro Top, brings Tina Fey’s cult classic “Mean Girls” into the world of Gaeilge, complete with Irishified characters, local pop culture nods, and a vibrant, diverse cast.

Created for Seachtain na Gaeilge, the international festival celebrating Ireland’s native language, this fresh take on the beloved teen comedy proves that the Irish language is totally fetch – sorry, so réchúiseach!

“Cailíní Gránna” (“Mean Girls” in Irish) reimagines Tina Fey’s beloved comedy -originally adapted from Rosalind Wiseman’s book “Queen Bees and Wannabes” – with Irishified characters and localized pop culture moments. The short film serves as both a tribute to the enduring influence of “Mean Girls” and a showcase for the vibrancy of the Irish language.
