Measles three days after rash appears. All but one of 16 confirmed measles cases confirmed in Grand Erie is in Haldimand-Norfolk, the other is in Brant County.

A rise of measles cases in Haldimand-Norfolk has now been declared an outbreak.

“When this started, we were looking at this being just a cluster of cases that were occurring predominantly in an unimmunized group,” Dr. Malcolm Lock, the region’s acting medical officer of health, said at a media briefing on Wednesday.
