Millennial Shares Email Received Months After Applying for Job: ‘Awkward’ [Video]

A job candidate’s confusion over a rejection email has sparked widespread amusement on Reddit.

The post, titled “Typo…or awkward invitation to move forward?” gained traction after the applicant shared a screenshot of the email, which contained an unusual phrasing that left some wondering whether it was a mistake or an unintentionally encouraging response.

The post was shared by u/rooter1ne in the r/recruitinghell forum and has amassed 5,500 upvotes since it was posted on February 18.

The applicant, a 42-year-old based in Charlotte, North Carolina, told Newsweek that they had applied for a compliance manager position on October 9 last year and received the rejection email on February 18.
