MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota residents should consider staying inside Tuesday as Canadian wildfire smoke is pushing air quality to unhealthy levels.
The Air Quality Alert will be in effect until around noon on Wednesday, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The air quality is hazardous in the far northwest and residents in East Grand Forks, Roseau and the Tribal Nation of Red Lake are advised to stay indoors and avoid outdoor activity.
The southern part of Minnesota – including Marshall, Worthington, Rochester and Winona – is forecast to be unhealthy for sensitive groups. People with breathing conditions, heart problems, diabetes, children, pregnant people and older adults should stay inside.
