The Montreal Canadiens visit the cellar-dwelling Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night in the midst of a hot streak that saw the Habs beat three of the past four Stanley Cup Champions.
The team swept its traditional Florida road trip beating the 2024 champion Panthers and 2021 champion Tampa Bay Lightning.
It is the first time Montreal beat both Florida teams over the holidays in since 2009-2010.
Montreal then went to Vegas and beat the 2023 champion Golden Knights on New Year’s Eve.
“I don’t know what’s changed,” said TSN 690 Radio host Mitch Gallo. “The month of December was certainly kind in general to the Canadiens posting a record of nine and four.”
Goals have come from throughout the Canadiens roster, including goals in five straight games for Jake Evans and three tallies for Kirby Dach.
The Canadiens are also playing with their full roster.
