More than 50 affordable apartment units are under construction in Saint John, N.B.

The Steepleview Developments apartment building will have one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, as well as barrier-free units.

The building will also include a daycare and community rooms.

David Hickey, the minister responsible for the New Brunswick Housing Corporation, says the daycare can take 120 children and it is already full.

“The demand is here. We’ve seen the power of what a non-profit building like this can do with other examples like the Wellington in Saint John,” he told CTV News.
