Between February 12 and February 17, 2025, a series of powerful winter storms blanketed the region, dumping an astonishing 53.6 centimetres of snow at Toronto Pearson International Airport alone. This amount surpasses the total snowfall of the entire 2023-2024 winter season, which saw only 47.6 centimetres over several months.
The sudden and extreme snowfall has led to significant disruptions, including widespread flight cancellations, treacherous road conditions, and ongoing travel advisories.
