More than 13,000 visitors are expected in Whitby over the next two weekends as minor hockey players of all ages arrive for the OMHA championships.

Games at the provincial tournament will be held at Iroquois Park and McKinney Sports Centre on March 28-30 and April 4-6.

The ‘Road to the Red Hats’ ends in Whitby March 28-30 for ‘AA’ players aged U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18, while players in the ‘A’ category will be in town April 4-6.

With so many players, coaches, parents and other visitors attending, parking will be limited on event days and visitors are advised to arrive early to secure on-site parking.

Recreation programming, including drop-in recreational swimming and leadership programs will continue at all town facilities. Arrive early to get a parking spot. There will be some recreational skating cancellations due to the tournaments. View the skating schedule at whitby.ca/Skate.
