Most travellers prefer this small Ontario airport: poll [Video]

While many travellers think of Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga when planning a trip, Ontario has other options.

Those looking for a smaller, quieter airport could choose one of the province’s other international airports.

In southern Ontario, London, Hamilton, Billy Bishop, Windsor and Waterloo have flights to international destinations.

INsauga.com readers selected John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport as their favourite in a poll last week.

As of Feb. 7, a total of 2,373 (41.16 per cent) respondents said they prefer the Hamilton Airport; followed by 1,750 (30.35 per cent) for Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport; then Waterloo with 913 (15.83 per cent) and finally 730 (12.66 per cent) voted for London.

Hamilton International Airport offers flights to Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, cities in Canada, the U.S. and Europe. Air Canada, Sunwing, WestJet and Porter operate out of the airport. Icelandic airline Play recently announced it would stop operations out of Hamilton in April.
