Motorcyclist dead following crash in Odessa [Video]

The crash occurred Monday around 11:12 PM and involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle and an SUV.

ODESSA, Texas —  35-year-old man Jake Boorgie is dead after a late-night motorcycle crash Monday the Odessa Police Department (OPD) said in a Facebook post. 

OPD stated they had responded to a fatal crash in the intersection of Andrews Highway and Yukon Rd. 

OPD also said investigation revealed a black Nissan SUV was traveling northbound in the 7000 block of Andrews Highway approaching the intersection, when Boorgie ran a redlight attempting to turn left causing the crash.

The post said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Ector County Medical Examiner’s office, and next of kin has been notified.
