FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – Mott Community College honored all cultures during the 32nd annual Peace & Dignity Ceremony Monday at their main campus in Flint.

It is MCC’s signature event that commemorates native people and Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is designed to promote cultural and racial harmony.

Near the end of the ceremony, all participants had an opportunity to make a prayer offering.

“During these times where there seems to be so much division and lack of unity, this is to address that and bring some unification, bring some dignity overall to everyone wherever they are,” MCC board member Sixto Olivo.

Olivo and MCC faculty member and counselor Celia Perez-Booth emceed the ceremony.
