A detective had received a tip that a man with an outstanding armed robbery warrant was back in Ionia after he’d previously fled to Texas and Mexico.

IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — Two men are in custody after a multi-county police chase on Monday, Dec. 30, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO). 

Deputies said a detective assigned to the Central Michigan Enforcement Team (CMET) had received a tip that a person with an outstanding armed robbery warrant was back in Ionia after he’d previously fled to Texas and Mexico. 

The detective had the plate information of the black GMC Yukon the suspect was driving and asked for help catching the suspect. 

Two ICSO cruisers got into a position to intercept the vehicle as the suspect was thought to be traveling to his mother’s home in Ionia.
