Multiple vehicles were set on fire in a Whitby dealership’s overflow parking lot Monday evening, with video footage showing three suspects in a secure area pouring an “ignitable liquid” over the cars and lighting them on fire.
Durham Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with video footage, including dashcam, to contact investigators.
Police were dispatched to Hopkins Street and Nichol Avenue, just south of Dundas Street, on Monday at approximately 7:40 p.m. to an assist fire call, where several vehicles were discovered on fire.
Whitby Fire extinguished the fires and no injuries were reported.
