Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents in Ajax that both happened late last week, with bullet holes found in two homes and several vehicles after gunfire at a quiet residential street near Westney Road early Friday morning.
The shootings happened almost exactly seven hours after shell casings were found at a cemetery in Ajax just a few kilometres to the northwest.
Durham Regional Police responded to an armed person call at Abbs Court and Willer Avenue in Ajax, just after 12:30 a.m. Friday. Officers arrived on scene and found multiple shell casings on the roadway and bullet holes in two homes and vehicles. The residents were home at the time of the shootings but no injuries have been reported.
Three men wearing dark clothing and a black four-door vehicle were observed fleeing the area at a high rate of speed after the shooting, police said.
