Four new officers have been sworn in as the newest members of the Saint John Police Force.

Constables Benjamin Cannon, Arjun Chauhan, Owen Lohnes and Carlo Mariano will begin work immediately after completing the six month training program at the Atlantic Police Academy on Prince Edward Island. All four officers were sponsored by the Saint John Police Force with a promise of joining their ranks upon completion.

After taking the oath of office and oath of secrecy, the four recruits will begin work immediately.

“What we’re really looking for is people that are really excited and engaged in making a difference,” says Chief Robert Bruce. “That’s our motto here, is to be a difference maker.”

Bruce says the four new hires all showed traits which led to them being chosen to be sponsored for training before joining the official ranks.

Cannon and Lohnes were born and raised in Saint John.
