A South Brunswick parks worker has filed a lawsuit against PSE&G and two property owners, claiming he was seriously injured when he fell into a hole that had been dug next to a new utility pole and obscured by fallen leaves.

Francesco “Frank” Montano, 42, was performing annual leaf collection duties about 10:45 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2022, when he fell into the opening in the 200 block of Fresh Ponds Road, according to a lawsuit filed June 26 in Superior Court of Middlesex County.

“At the time of the accident, the hole was covered with dried leaves,” the lawsuit states.
