The RCMP says a Nova Scotia man is facing additional charges following a fatal crash in Nova Scotia’s Digby County two months ago.
Police, fire and ambulance crews responded to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 1 in Mavillette around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 6.
The RCMP says a Pontiac G5 veered out of its lane and collided with a Hyundai Kona, which was travelling in the opposite direction.
One of the Hyundai’s passengers, a 77-year-old woman from Saint Alphonse, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and another passenger in the Hyundai were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said in a Thursday morning news release that the passenger later died in hospital.
They also said another passenger suffered serious injuries.
The driver of the Pontiac allegedly showed signs of impairment by alcohol at the time of the crash. The Saint Alphonse man was arrested and taken to a local hospital, where police obtained blood samples.
He then faced a charge of impaired operation causing death.
