Hope for Wildlife in Seaforth, N.S., is looking after two special guests this holiday season: a bobcat and a golden eagle.

“The bobcat was found on the side of the road by a police officer,” said Hope Swinimer, founder of Hope for Wildlife. “She’s in very hard shape. Two broken bones and a broken pelvis. We’re hoping it will heal very well.”

The bobcat will stay with Hope for Wildlife for at least three weeks as it recovers from its fractures.

The golden eagle was found grounded and unwilling to fly in Prince Edward Island, and was transferred to Hope for Wildlife to recuperate in its flight cage.

“We don’t get many (golden eagles),” Swinimer said. “We have to have special import and export permits to give him medical care.”
