The Halifax Thunderbirds has suspended player Tyson Bell following an alleged assault in Colorado.
The organization did not say how long Bell will be suspended in their announcement, which was made on X Thursday morning.
It comes after the National Lacrosse League (NLL) announced on Dec. 22 it was investigating an “alleged incident between a player and spectator(s) following the Halifax at Colorado game on December 21.”
Video posted to social media of the alleged incident appears to show a player punch one spectator and hit another with a lacrosse stick.
The NLL did not identify the player involved, however the Denver Police Department has identified Bell as the suspect.
Police allege Bell and a victim were “involved in an argument” at Ball Arena in Denver when the victim was hit in the face, causing minor injury.
Bell, who is from St. Catharines, Ont., is scheduled to appear in Denver court on Jan. 22.
