The Nova Scotia RCMP has identified a vehicle of interest after a shooting in Cole Harbour early Sunday morning.

The RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of shots fired on Amaranth Crescent around 7:45 a.m.

Police say they found an unoccupied vehicle parked on the road and a nearby home with damage “consistent with that of a shooting.”

Residents reportedly heard gunshots sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators have since identified an SUV they say was involved in the shooting.

The RCMP does not believe the incident was random and its investigation is ongoing.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
