N.S. RCMP respond to barricaded man in Porters Lake area [Video]

Thousands of Nova Scotia Power customers were without power in the Porters Lake, N.S., area Thursday morning as police responded to a report of a man barricaded inside a home.

The RCMP said in a post on X at 7:13 a.m. that officers were at a home in the 1300 block of West Porters Lake Road, where a man who was believed to be armed was inside.

Police said there was no one else inside the home and no immediate threat to the public, but they were asking neighbours to stay inside their homes as a precaution.

The RCMP also closed West Porters Lake Road between Greenough Drive and Capri Drive and were asking motorists to avoid the area.
