National Weather Service Blizzard Warning Tuesday into Wednesday [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – With strong storms and severe weather, you would think we would stay warm enough to not worry about snowfall from the same storm system, but you would be mistaken.

This area of low pressure is massive, and as it rotates counter-clockwise from southern Arkansas up to Central Minnesota, it will begin to pick up much colder air that floats in from southern Canada.

This cold air will interact with the back half of this low-pressure system filled with a lot of moisture. That moisture becomes frozen, and snow shower activity develops.

The snowfall threat is anticipated as early as 9 this evening and will continue until mid-morning for the metro. Overall, snowfall impacting the actual city limits should fall between midnight and 2 a.m.
