King Charles and Queen Camilla’s historic royal tour in Ottawa wasn’t worth the hype for many Canadians.

The two-day visit to Ottawa marked the royals’ first visit to Canada since the King’s coronation two years ago. It was also the first time Canada’s head of state has opened Parliament since Queen Elizabeth II did so in 1977.

Prime Minister Mark Carney asked the King to read the speech from the throne on Tuesday, which sets out the government’s priorities for the legislative session. Foreign policy experts said the speech was meant to send a message to U.S. President Donald Trump amid his annexation calls.

Despite the historic significance of the event, many Canadians don’t seem to care.
