RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Nevada Museum of Art is opening its doors to the community for a free day of exploring the museum and learning more about their program, “Threads of Tradition: Celebrating 25 Years of the Great Basin Native Basketweavers.”
Claire Munoz, vice president of advancement, stopped by Morning Break to share all the different types of demonstrations, talks and performances related to the traditions of Native American basket weaving that will take place Saturday, April 26.. Guests can shop at vendor booths featuring unique Indigenous art, baskets, jewelry and specialty items.
This free community event celebrates Indigenous heritage and basket weaving traditions of the Great Basin. The event goes from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with various activities happening throughout the day. Click here to see a full schedule of events.
