New Brunswick man dies in two-vehicle collision [Video]

A 66-year-old man from Petit-Cap, N.B., died following a two-vehicle collision in Woodside, N.B.

Members of the Shediac RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a car and a transport truck at on Hwy. 15 in Woodside at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Friday.

The driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The transport truck driver sustained what are believed to be minor injuries, said a Saturday news release.

RCMP believe the driver of the car crossed the centre-line and collided head-on with the truck, said the release.

Members of the Strait Shores Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s office, and members of Public Safety, all attended the scene.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
